Subject: Career options after B.Tech
Date: 6-Sep-2008
Question: Dear Ma'm/Sir,

As IT sector market is going down its all hush hush in the market, I am in third year presently pursuing Computer science branch. To have a secure future i am thinking of carrying on with my further studies so please give me any better option other than MBA.

Answer: As you say, you don't want to MBA, there plenty of other post graduate course in this and other fields which you can opt for after your B.tech.

You must identify which career you want to take. If you want to be a technologist, you may go for M.Tech in your field and then do Ph.D. Ph.Ds are sought after in research oriented jobs.

You may choose to carve your career in a Niché field like Sofware Engineering, Cyber Law, Cyber Security, Patents, Network Architect or any other based on your knack and interest in your B.Tech.

Hope that helps
