Answer: The biotechnology profession offers excellent prospects, particularly in the areas of medicine and agriculture. Employment opportunities are in research, production and marketing in the following fields:

Medicine and healthcare, agriculture, animal husbandry environment and industry. Job prospects are available in drug and pharmaceutical research, public funded laboratories, chemicals, environment control, waste management, energy, agriculture, food processing and bio-process industries. With the progress in economy and industries, almost every sphere of life will absorb a biotechnologist whether it is agriculture, horticulture, dairy farming, pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, careers in biotechnology tend to be related to Research and Development, Quality Control, Clinical Research, Manufacturing and Production, Patent Administration, Management and Administration.

For pursuing rewarding career in this field, just B.Sc. is not good enough. She should do M.Sc/M.Tech and further Ph.D if she wants to go for Research. She should do MBA, if she wants to make her career in Corporate Sector.
