Subject: M.Tech after 2 years exp.
Date: 7-Aug-2008
Question: I've completed my B.E in Electronics & telecomm. this year. I've got 2 job offers through campus placements. I want to go for further studies(M.Tech) but haven't done any preparations for it(Gate) yet. Is it advisable to work in the company, and then after 2 years go for further studies?

First company is TCS. It has bond of 50k for 2 years.
Second company is Sasken. It has a bond of 2lakh for 2 years.

Answer: Don't waste your time in too much thinking. You should opt for job either TCS or Sasken (depending upon the kind of work promised/location or whatever factors you have in mind). Staying atleast for 2 years in your first company is strongly advisable, so bond should not matter as long as you don't have any pre-plans of switching job or doing anything else earlier.

And if you still want to go for higher studies, you can prepare for GATE side by side and then pursue your higher education, which you can do even after two years. You would also be having some job experience till then.

All the best
